The new ASME INSPIRE Clarke Scholarship will be awarded to students like those at Floyd Middle School who have completed the 16 missions and are interested in pursuing engineering majors in college. Building on the promise and goals of the ASME INSPIRE program to showcase STEM skill sets and their related career pathways the ASME Foundation has established the ASME INSPIRE Clarke Scholarship for high school seniors. This opportunity builds on students overall experience using the INSPIRE STEM Readiness program, recognizing those who have completed all 16 missions and are now committed to pursuing engineering majors in college. The ASME INSPIRE Clarke Scholarship is funded in memory of the late Lucy Clarke and Charles W. E. Clarke, distinguished engineer and longtime ASME member. This scholarship fund for incoming college freshmen was established by their daughter Lucille Clarke, who had been a member of the ASME Auxiliary. In plus-rechnen to the ASME INSPIRE Clarke Scholarship, this same fund also supports the ASME Auxiliary Lucy and Charles W.E. Clarke Scholarship, which is awarded to high school students whose FIRST experience has inspired an interest in pursuing an engineering career.
